About Us

Welcome to the IEEE Malaysia Section Women in Engineering website.

The mission of IEEE WIE is to facilitate the global inspiration, engagement and advancement of women in technical disciplines. IEEE WIE envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity.

IEEE WIE was established in 1994,  thus it has more than 20 years of history.

WIE Affinity Group (AG) provide the opportunity for members to network at a local level. All members are encouraged to join and participate in their local group activities to promote growth within WIE.

The IEEE Malaysia Women in Engineering Affinity Group was established in 2007 with Associate Professor Dr. Zuhaina Zakaria as the interim chair. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuhaina, who is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) served as chair for a period of 4 years beginning 2008 until 2011.

In a nutshell, IEEE WIE Malaysia shall continue to inspire and empower girls and ladies to pursue a career in engineering thus collectively use their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity.
