Scratch Programming for Kids – organized by PETRONITA Perak and IEEE-WIE Malaysia

Petronita Education Bureau & IEEE Malaysia Women in Engineering (WIE) will organize a one-day program called ‘Scratch Programming for Kids’ on Saturday, 6th May 2017.

Scratch is interactive and easy – making it suitable for kids to be introduced to and learn basic programming. Details of the event are as follows:

  • Date: SATURDAY, 6 May 2017
  • Time: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
  • Venue: Block 01, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Bandar Seri Iskandar, Perak.
  • Open to kids aged from 9 years old to 12 years old
  • Fee – RM 25 (Petronita or WIE members) and RM 35 (non-members) – inclusive of lunch and two tea-breaks
  • Registration deadline: 25th April 2017 (Payment should be made by 28th April 2017)

There are a few prizes up for grabs. There is also one special award/prize to be given out by IEEE-WIE Malaysia.

IEEE WIE Malaysia Committee is organizing our annual bowling tournament.

This tournament is open to everyone (at least 1 IEEE member per group) and it is not just about the bowling! It’s about making new friends, reuniting with old friends, and having fun!!!

2016 IEEE-WIE Malaysia Section Congress

The 2016 WIE Malaysia Section Congress had been successfully organized by IEEE-WIE Malaysia on Saturday, 15th October 2016 at Asia Pacific University, Bukit Jalil.

The congress program included the welcoming remarks from Dr Nasreen Badrudin, followed by Sharing Session – “IEEE Region 10 Mentor-Mentee Program” by Ms. Saavaatheeya Sivakumar, Founder and Chair, WIE-Malaysia Student Network, Round Table Session – “Future direction and activities of WIE-Malaysia and WIE-Malaysia Student Network”, a Talk on “Healthy Lifestyle and Stress Management” by Dr. Siti Munira Yasin, Specialist in Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM and a short Talk on “Occupational Safety and Health” by Dr. Mahanijah Md. Kamal, Secretary, IEEE-WIE (Malaysia).

The program ends at 4:30 pm with tea and networking session.
