On 26th of June 2021, in collaboration with the 46th Science and Engineering Design Exhibition (SEDEX), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), a live forum with Q&A has been held with 3 women speakers which takes place for almost 2 hours. This forum was jointly organized by UTP and the Centre for Student Development (CSD), UTP. The forum discusses on “Scarcity of Women in S.T.E.M: Nature or Nurture? The panel of speakers were Ms Zuraida Mat Isa, a Principal Consultant and Technical Advisor of Energy Quest Sdn. Bhd, Ms Sylvia Wong, a Project Engineer with Soon Ngai Engineering and Ms Audrey Ling, Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Next Academy. Ms Zuraida Mat Isa represented IEEE Malaysia Section Women of Engineering Affinity Group. This forum not only attracts the young women from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, but also the more dominant counterparts in STEM, the male students and staffs of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. It is believed such platform which discusses on participations of women in STEM should be organized frequently as one of the effort to boost the numbers of women involved. During the live forum, attendees stand a chance to win a lucky draw. Congratulations to the winner. The event ended with a virtual photo session with the attendees, all seems fired up.
